Shooting attack near Hebron's Telem

Two Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers at a Hebron checkpoint on October 23. Netanyahu promised a West Bank operation 'not seen since the Six-Day War', and the army began a multi-day Hebron operation with a full lockdown, demolitions and evacuation orders. Hebron's mayor now puts those displaced at about 2,200, with thousands more expected, and the municipality says 35 hectares in Ein Deir Baha were destroyed or marked for destruction. The Palestinian Authority and B'Tselem warn of collective punishment.
